The Excellent Manager Program

Managers must work with and through people to achieve organizational goals.  Because people have different levels of experience and ability, managers must be able to handle people in a variety of different situations.  In other words, personal excellence in leadership requires a blending of skills and the ability to use those skills at the right time.

Questar’s Excellent Manager Program® (EMP) is a well-founded and proven management tool that helps evaluate the effective situational use of leadership styles.  Managers can assess and alter their leadership style and behavior to improve performance and increase productivity.  They can identify and concentrate on those areas that may require special effort to achieve excellence as a manager.  In addition, they can identify their strengths that provide a solid basis for achieving success.   

 

What Does It Measure?

The EMP measures employee perceptions of a manager’s commitment in five key areas:

  »   Commitment to Self

  »   Commitment to Tasks

 

The EMP also provides insight into four leadership styles: Directing, Coaching, Supporting, and Delegating.  Each style may be appropriate in any given situation with any employee. 

 

What Do You Get?

Each manager receives a personalized report presenting feedback and suggestions for improvement.  The report has overview sections so the individual can use it as a quick reference tool.  It also provides complete response details, making it an excellent starting point for an in-depth analysis of the feedback.  An individual development-planning guide helps you understand your results and get you started on action plans.
